An online self-assessment of practitioner level coaching and mentoring competence.
This self-assessment is designed for you to be able to assess yourself on how you coach-mentor and to compare yourself against the ‘Professional Practitioner Level' standards. The questionnaire builds from the Foundation and Intermediate Levels and you should therefore be competent in or have an action plan for all aspects at those levels before assessing yourself on this questionnaire.
The standards are based on a worldwide competency research programme by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and the ENTO UK National Occupational Standards. We have then integrated both with the outcomes from extensive consultation with most other bodies having an interest in coaching and mentoring. They therefore represent current best practice across the ‘profession' and form the basis on which Quality Awards and Qualifications for coach-mentoring are now being given.
The OCM was one of the first organisations to achieve EMCC quality awards for their Foundation, Intermediate and Practitioner level programmes.
The questionnaire is arranged into 19 questions or statements that should apply at Practitioner Level. Each has a number of explanatory elements that you can choose to view before you answer. These additional elements give a much more detailed explanation of the full meaning of the question or statement in terms of the sequence of thoughts and actions that should be followed when relating to coaching or mentoring. (These are guidelines only, so if you do something which is equivalent that is quite acceptable).
Practitioner level competences and qualifications are those that aim to equip professional coaching and mentoring specialists setting up to work with senior executives, directors and boards of organisations.
